Brodys turn to have a birthday!!!

I cant believe that my baby has turned two!! He is a BABY!!!!

Recently the doctor informed me that brodys walking skills were very immature for his age. Poor Brody! He didnt start walking until he was 18 months, Brody loves to be snuggled and held, and of course I never complain about that, so his sweet little feet dont usually get a chance to touch the ground most days! He is the most adorable baby ever and I love him sooo sooo much! Happy Birthday Bro-Bro! (I promise to encourage more mature walking).

10 reasons why we LOVE Brody Glen........

1- He came into the world sleeping! (via c-section) seriously, he was fast asleep!

2- His feet are soo chubby, he does not fit in regular shoes. (thanks katie for the crocs he loves them soo much, he has worn them to bed a couple of times!)

3- He LOVES mexican food, especially beans, chille, rice, guacamole.....

4- He loves to sing! He learned to sing before he could talk! watch out simon cowell!!!!!

5- He is a complete mamas boy! He is such a snuggly boy, he would honestly cosy with me all day if we could! I have gone to the hair salon, nail salon etc, with Brody contently sitting on my lap without wriggling!

6- His eyelashes are soo long and thick, that bubbles get stuck on them when washing his hair

7- He adores his big brother kyle (they are such good friends)

8- He is very handsome

9- He wont go to sleep without his fluffy/silky/smelly blanky (thanks jill)

10- He is just brody, and we love him to bits!!!

something to say............

Just took a test,
The one on a stick,
Two lines were the reply,
Was this a lie?

Same response on test two,
Is this honestly true?
Could this really be,
As I open test three.
Another test more,
I stare at test four!
Test five is teasing me too,
So its back on the loo.
Are my eyes playing tricks?
There are 2 lines on test six!

I think its safe to say...........
Theres another baby on its way!

Bye Bye Popcorn seed!!!!

Ever since kyle was a tiny baby, he has had a funny little lump inside his belly-button. It reminds me of a popcorn kernel, so we have always nick-named it his popcorn seed! Recently Kyle was having a routine check up from our doctor, and when he came across Kyles little popcorn seed, he decided it would be better to remove it for him. So this morning we went for our little procedure, I was feeling pretty calm and was trying to make sure kyle was happy and comfortable, and then Dr Lamb started pulling and cutting, Kyle was nicely numbed up and lay there like a proper tough guy! The dr continued tugging and slicing, and all of a sudden I felt my face tingle, my head started spinning, I felt the need to throw up and my legs started giving way beneath me!! The doctor had to grab my arm and help me into a chair! What a wimp I turned out to be!! It was especially surprising for me since I watch discovery health channel all the time, and I am fascinated with the human body and anything medical. So I sat with my head in between my knees while Kyle lay still and brave getting his stitches.

On the way home from the doctor, my big brave boy started sobbing, He said he really wanted his popcorn seed back on, because he "really really missed it!" Poor Kyle my heart went out to him but I couldnt help hiding a little chuckle. He is such a special boy, and I am so proud of him. I couldnt ask for a better child than Kyle and I feel so blessed to be his mummy!!!

trash or treasure? thats the question!

I spent 4 hours this morning going through Kyle and Brodys clothes, (they have an awful lot of clothes!) I am beginning the massive job of organising and clearing out before we move house (next month). I managed to fill 2 huge trash bags (bin-bags for my British fans), and their closets were still bulging!! It doesnt make any sense, I thought I had a handle on my shopping addiction, but apparently not!!!! anyway, the next project I am going to tackle is the playroom!!! I am scared! have these toys been reproducing? I plan to donate alot of my goods to D.I (charity shop), but I am slightly nervous, because the last time we attempted to be "charitable" they refused to take our "treasures!" apparently they have become rather picky! Whatever happened to the term.. "beggars can't be choosers?" call me old fashioned but I was deeply disturbed by this new-found selectiv-ness!!!(is that a word?) I recall the time when we went to donate our old couch, and the men looked it up and down and said.... (wait for it).... "no thanks!"
"pardon me sir, but we bought this couch here a few months ago!!!!!" In fairness to the man, it really was a scruffy old 70's looking thing, but that is what had charmed us when we bought it! (seriously I cant believe we actually paid money for that thing!)
The next attempt we tried, was the last straw for me, it was a rolled up carpet. (we had ordered carpet for our last house, and at the last minute had decided on wood floor, so we had a whole roll of brand new carpet!) I was almost excited to donate this, as I just KNEW they would appreciate such a great item, and we would get that nice fuzzy feeling that you get when you do something nice, but, no...... once again our donation was refused and we were sent on our merry way! without any fuzzy feelings!!! What is going on?
I am left to wonder ..... are our standards really that bad, that even the local thrift store is not interested in what we have to give. Or are they getting a bit snobby? thoughts?

happy 4th july!!!!!!!

This is always an interesting holiday for me to celebrate..... America declaring independence from Britain. I am from Britain! (most people I talk to here don't know that Scotland is considered part of Great Britain) Thats ok though, because I used to think New York City was the capital of USA!! (heehee) Well, I still think it is the shopping capital! That should count for something? sooo anyway, celebrating Independence day...... I feel slightly like a traitor, but dont really need much of an excuse to have a celebration, and thats exactly what we had!! The entire "Pug" clan had a reunion at the family cabin. Reunion is an interesting term, considering the fact that most of us live within a 2 mile radius. It basically was a 3-day-long, sunday dinner!! It was lovely to spend "more" time together, and to let all the kids play and be crazy together.

Brody sharing his food with misty the dog!! ( I really wish he would stop doing that!)

and check out kyle in his stripy jammies!!! this is one to dig our when he brings all his girlfriends round!!! hehehhe

date with dad

Mark has started a new tradition, that every saturday morning, he spends time with the boys. They sometimes go to a little workshop for kids, at home depot, it is really fun for them, and best of all, it gives me some peace and quiet. Oh how I love saturday mornings now! Anyway, I was downloading some pics off my camera, and I came across some that mark had taken while they were out. Yes, they got to see ducks, and yes they fed them breakfast, and yep... those are cheetos.

haircuts

Kyle and Brody had their first "real" haircuts last week! Kyle was a very bald baby, and it really has taken him his whole 3 years of life, to really merit giving someone money for an actual haircut! Seriously, his previous haircuts have required the token snip, and believe me, I will treasure those precious strands of strawberry blond hair for the rest of my life. (both strands) j/k Brody on the other hand has very thick hair, and has had some unfortunate haircuts! (please refer to "my baby looks like a monk!") So anyway I bit the bullet and invited a professional hairdresser to our home to make us look cool! Kyle was very good, and sat lovely and still while she worked away, Brody wriggled around and eventually I had to read him some books while she cut his hair. I think they both look gorgeous!!! What do you think?
